An Introduction to Romanticizing My Cozy Life
Hi there, welcome to Romanticizing My Cozy Life. The wonderful blog, Pinker n Punkin Quilting & Stitching, brought inspiration over me to start this blog. Over the past couple of months, I have grown to throughly enjoy reading new posts from Melisa. While I first stumbled upon Pinker n Punkin because of Melisa’s adorable salt house cross stitch patterns (patterns she so graciously provides for free), I found myself returning to her blog to read about her life updates and all of her latest craft projects. I personally have never wrote a blog before but upon reading post after post about a presumably wonderful lady, I felt compelled to write some posts of my own.
Now that you know the why or where the inspiration to start a blog originated from, you might be wondering who I am and what are my intentions with Romanticizing My Cozy Life. Let us start with the most basic of information, my name is Des, and it is so nice to meet you. Please do tell me your name and a bit about yourself in the comments below.
I am a homemaker with no children at the moment. My fiancé and I will be getting married come this September (I am excited beyond words). A typical day for me will include cleaning, cooking, and spending time doing one (or two or three) of the hobbies that I hold close to my heart. My hobbies include cross stitching, reading, sewing, paper crafting, and completing jigsaw puzzles. As I am writing the list of my hobbies, I am sure there are a few that have slipped my mind.
Here is my latest cross stitch project. I purchased this bookmark pattern from “michaelacoffield” on Etsy. The pattern name is “Cross Stitch No. 9 Flower Basket Bookmark”. I did make a few small changes to the pattern.Since I am a homemaker and am home for the majority of my days, I enjoy making my home environment beautiful and cozy. I love going to thrift stores or searching online on Facebook Marketplace to see what treasures I can add to my curated home decor. My goal is to create a peaceful, relaxed, and welcoming energy in my home for everyone who enters.
I did not always romanticize my life nor did I always think that I had a cozy life. If I am being honest with you, this change in mindset and thinking was a recent development. It started with me romanticizing my everyday life and all the “mundane” routines that we engage in throughout the day. For example, one of the first things I did was actually enjoy a cup of coffee. I know that may sound silly but I slowed down, I bought a pretty mug (a mug you are excited to use every morning is a game changer, trust me), and I took the time to make a good cup of Joe. Not rushing or being in a hurry, allows myself to really appreciate the moment in time and think about everything that I am doing. Instead of hurriedly drinking my coffee every morning now, I enjoy every sip out of my pretty mug and it is the best coffee I have ever tasted (surprise, the base of the coffee is still the Kirkland brand K-Cup).
Romanticizing my life, slowing down and celebrating what I have, helped me realize how cozy and good my life already was. With Romanticizing My Cozy Life, I want to share with you my cooking, my hobbies, my wonderful thrifts finds (when they appear), and all the other beautiful aspects of my life. This blog is as much for me as it is for you and I hope to inspire you to romanticize your own life and see how beautiful it is.
Stay cozy friend,
Des
